How We Learn

In a report from the National Center for Clinical Infant Programs, a child's readiness for school is directly dependent upon the ability and knowledge of how to learn. How we learn is based upon seven functions.

  • Confidence--a sense of control
  • Curiosity
  • Intentionality--the wish to be effective and to affect change
  • Self control
  • Relatedness--to be understood by, as well as understanding others
  • Communication
  • Cooperativeness
