THERAPEUTIC SOCIALIZATION GROUPS FOR CHILDREN
AGES 4-11 YEARS OLD*
*Children grouped by age
Meeting at the Clinic at Children's Special Services, LLC
7501 Auden Trail ,  Atlanta, GA 30350

June 19-20-21-22  Clinic       Session I grades pre-K-3    330-5pm
July 16-17-18-19   Clinic       Session II open ages         330-5 pm

 *Space limited to 4-6 children per 7 session program

Led by Graduate Licensed and Certified Professionals!
Focusing on interactive experiences to enhance self-esteem and cooperation.
Your child will be monitored for expressive and receptive language as well as motor-sensory organizational skills.  In addition, a Registered Music Therapist will be participating in some of the sessions with your child to facilitate fine motor, sequencing and presentational abilities.
Utilizing magic and other novel interactive experiences. Focusing on interactive experiences to enhance self-esteem and cooperation.

If you can check of any of these concerns, THIS GROUP IS FOR YOUR CHILD!
(Not a complete list)

  • Not many and/or few friends
  • Often plays on the "fringes of the group"
  • Complains that "someone hit him/her"
  • Hits other children unprovoked
  • Problems when it is time to "line up"
  • Difficulty with co-operative tasks
  • Difficulty with "personal space"
  • Poor verbal expression of thoughts, ideas and feelings
  • Multiple complaints of feeling "sick"
  • Easily Frustrated
  • Overly sensitive to criticisms
  • Poor eye contact when speaking to others
  • Aggressiveness/shy/social judgment concerns
  • Difficulty working groups
  • Organizational issues: homework/home chores/personal care/ room, etc
  • Difficulty "reading" facial expressions and/or body language

In addition to learning how to handle the above your child will also learn how to

  • Increase in-hand manipulation abilities (this helps with handwriting!)
  • Increase sequencing skills 
  • Increase sequential memory
  • Increase verbal presentation skills (oral book reports, etc in school require this skill).
  • Increase motor memory (kinesthesia).
