Handwriting Program
We take the headaches out of handwriting!!

 "A 12-week handwriting course dedicated to enhancing bright children's written communication skills.(THIS IS NOT A CREATIVE WRITING COURSE) Led by a registered and licensed occupational therapist from Children's Special Services, LLC------Goals of the program will be to:

• Get homework done more easily
• Become more fluid with written tasks
• Develop more task time efficiency
• Decrease resistance to written assignments.
• Increase legibility
• Increase written communication skills

Work on fine motor skills such as:
1. Develop in-hand manipulation and fine motor skills necessary for handwriting
2. Enhance functional pencil grip
3. Improve letter formation and directionality in writing
4. Develop spacing and line awareness in writing
5. Develop postural control and stability necessary for handwriting

Choose our handwriting program if your child, is having one or more of the handwriting issues noted below:

• Poor pencil grip
• Complains hand "gets tired" when he writes
• Papers are messy
• Issues with neatness and legibility
• Problems getting work done quickly
• Cannot put numbers in a column correctly (may include difficulty with doing math {keeping numbers in proper alignment}, awareness of margins on paper, etc.)
• Frustrates with homework and/or independent assignments
• Resists or avoids ( or is slow to initiate) pencil paper tasks
• Organizational issues
• Difficulty following directions
• Difficulty keeping items in a sequence
• Difficulty visually tracking across a page (midline visual issues)
• Writing floats off the line
• Size of letters inconsistent
• Issues with the spacing of letters and/or words 
• Very sensitive to corrective remarks about written work (includes maps, charts, drawings, etc.)
• Issues with letter formation 
• Works on the fringes of a group with a task that involves any form of fine motor skill (such as cutting, organizing, decision-making, writing, drawing, etc.)
