What People Are Saying

My son was 11 years old when we started seeing Susan and her therapists.  We had worked hard with various OT and PT professionals from the time — was 4 years old to help him write legibly.  It just didn’t work, not matter how hard we tried or how much we practiced.  We had one OT professional explain that —’s problems were so severe that he would never learn to write legibly and to focus 100 percent of our efforts on typing.

When we started with Susan and her group, the focus was immediately on building overall strength and the basics of writing.  Every week we took home homework and I watched him get stronger and more confident in his abilities.  Within months he had cursive that was legible and getting neater by the week.

We have homeschooled — for six years and he has grown and progressed beautifully.  I wanted to try something different for his last year of middle school and high school but felt we couldn’t move forward without the ability to write, take notes, etc..  This year, after 18 months with Susan and her therapists, — has been accepted into a school with a rigorous college prep program and I am confident that he will succeed.  I really don’t believe that — would have been ready without the skills that he was taught by Susan and her therapists.

Thank you so much for bringing the POP social skills class to my son’s school. It has changed our lives. My son ________ started to socially withdraw this summer and I was very worried about him. He wouldn’t make eye contact or speak with people outside of his close circle. He even was very “shy” (his words) with his peers. I met Susan Orloff at a Parent night at the school, I knew immediately that this was something that he needed.

Susan did an evaluation of him before the class and we discovered that he had more challenges than just being shy. But the difference in ___________ before the class and after the class are striking! He has confidence now and is not afraid to speak to people. I noticed the change a few weeks into the class wehn for the first time he spoke to our dry cleaner who always gives him a lollipop. He said thank you to him and I almost cried. Now he can speak and look at almost anyone.

He was helping me shop at the grocery store the other day and we couldn’t find an item, Iasked him to go up to the store clerk and ask her where it is…he walked right up to her, said “excuse me” and proceeded to ask his question. Tristan is a much happier boy these day and I am so grateful to the CSS therapists for helping __________ in the POP class. We are looking forward to the next one.

What Handwriting Seminar participants are saying about “Handwriting on the Wall”:

Participants in Susan’s latest Handwriting seminar in march 2007 shared what they enjoyed most about her presentation: “the lab work”, “the practical, hands-on application”, “the activities”, “fun activities”, “lots of great treatment ideas”, “the pre-writing ideas for handwriting”. The only “complaints” from all participants was that the seminar was not long enough!
